Tails
Check out that ugly bump down by the tail. I got out as much as I could before I glassed it but couldn't go any thinner. Oh well, it adds character. It's not like my shapes are perfect anyway. They fit my kooky style.
Kept as close as I could to the original boards' yellowish color. Ugly but original. Had to do a lame resin swirl attempt on the bottom just to change it up.
Just got to do a hotcoat and she is done!

maybe a re-do on the fin box setting? Looks like a toe out on the left side...
Fuck it does. Hmmm. I better check that when I get home. I always have trouble with the finbox placements, never know if I should measure from the stringer out or the rails in.
I should show my one homemade board where I was off a 1/4 inch on the finboxes and need to place one fin forward and the other all the way back to get them even. The board still flies though!
Rad, Push.
came upon your site and stoked to see you're taking old boards and reshaping them (i do this with skateboard decks but haven't moved on to trying it on a surfboard!). i've been thinking about taking an old funboard type shape i have and stripping it and shaping it into a fish. how difficult of a job is this? if you have the time i would really appreciate a basic step by step on how you go upon doing it and the tools required.
first do rail in on the rear point, then use stringer to figure toe in amount for front point.
Thanks Anon. Checked the boxes out and while they are not toed out thank god, they are parallel to stringer. Not bad but thought I was toe'in in.
Twinfin, i'm no expert by any means just a stoked garage shapin' fiddler.
